Sociological Implications:

When it comes to Domestic Violence your race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and intelligence level do not correlate. No matter what, women in all areas can be affected. Once affected, their emotional stability is never the same. In the short run, the emotional abuse is more harmful than the physical abuse, but the physical abuse can cause medical difficulties as a woman’s life goes on. They can experience Arthritis, hypertension and heart disease as a result of physical abuse.
It can affect their work especially if they take work off a lot because of being physically hurt. This can then cause them to be financially unstable and add to the emotional instability. If the women have children, it affects them as well. Boys who witness their father’s abusing their mothers are more likely to do the same to their significant others later on. Girls who witness their mothers being abused are often likely to be abused as well later on. It is a very vicious cycle that is hard to be broken.
